PSAC has joined forces with the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) to launch CodeSearch, a program designed to reunite families with their children faster than ever before. CodeSearch is corporate volunteer program, combining technology and a unique partnership between non-profit, corporate partners, industry and law enforcement to unite corporate resources in one cause – finding missing children.
How does it work?
CodeSearch partners download a smartphone app that allows MCSC to push out critical information about a missing child at the touch of a button. If a child goes missing in a community, partners immediately receive an alert on their smartphone with a description of the child and other important details. The MCSC application uses geo-targeted technology, meaning that it knows where companies are located and only sends information about children who are missing that area, or who may have been taken to that area.
What do employees have to do?
Two things – download and register the app, and then show up to work every day. That’s all. When an employee downloads the MCSC application, any critical information about a missing child is pushed right to their hands. All they have do when they receive an alert is view the information and keep their eyes open for that missing child.
It’s about community. Your community.
There is nothing more important to families than keeping the children of their community safe. By becoming a part of the CodeSearch network, employees are proactively keeping their communities safer and volunteering for an incredible cause.
