Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a common gas found on oil and gas work sites. In the Canadian petroleum industry, H2S Alive is a safety course that is mandatory for all workers who may come into contact with this particularly dangerous gas.
Energy Safety Canada’s H2S Alive course is designed as a one-day program intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide (H2S). The primary focus is to provide generic H2S program content to help workers work safely in and around H2S environments. The program covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect oneself and basic rescue techniques. For more information, visit Energy Safety Canada.
