Service Outlook: Ian Gilles, Managing Director, Institutional Research, GMP FirstEnergy
Ian Gillies has been a Research Analyst at FirstEnergy since 2015 focusing on the Energy Services sector, and assumed coverage of the Energy, Transportation, Processing and Generation universe in August 2016. Prior thereto, Mr. Gillies was the Manager, Capital Market at Calfrac Well Services where his primary functions were to evaluate business development opportunities and manage investor relations. He also served as Research Associate (Energy Services) from 2010 to 2014 at FirstEnergy and 2008 to 2010 at Thomas Weisel Partners. Mr. Gillies’ educational background includes an MSc International Securities, Investment and Banking at the University of Reading in the UK and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University.
CAPP Outlook: Ben Brunnen, Vice President, Oil Sands, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers
|Ben Brunnen is responsible for a wide range of technical, regulatory and social policy issues facing Canada’s oil sands industry, where he advocates for a competitive, safe, and environmentally and socially responsible energy industry.|
PSAC Outlook: Gary Mar, President and CEO, Petroleum Services Association of Canada
|Since becoming President and CEO of PSAC in 2018, Gary has been active with both the Federal and Provincial governments across Canada. Gary served 14 years as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Alberta and held several Cabinet portfolios – Community Development; Health and Wellness; Education; Environment; and International and Intergovernmental Relations. After leaving government service in 2015, Gary was an independent consultant working for both Chinese and Canadian companies seeking assistance with trans Pacific trade and investment. He has a broad network of contacts in both Canada and the U.S. with government and the energy sector. Before serving Albertans as an elected Member of the Alberta Legislature, Gary practiced criminal, civil, corporate, commercial and real estate law in Calgary, Alberta.|
