PSAC Education Fund Scholarship Program

The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), through its Education Fund program, is providing scholarships for students pursuing post-secondary education – for those students connected to PSAC Regular Member companies as well as students at technical colleges enrolled in petroleum-related or trades programs - especially those who would potentially be interested in a career in the petroleum services sector.

The PSAC Education Fund directs resources to Canadian students to create awareness of and help develop a potential long-term labour pool for the upstream service, supply and manufacturing sector of the oil and gas industry.

PSAC’s Education Fund program is a vehicle through which PSAC and its Member companies can achieve a number of important goals: engage with local communities and media to address key issues such the impending labour shortage, and offer examples of the positive impacts industry can have on communities. The program helps strengthen the relationship between the services sector and the public, and demonstrates some of the good works being done for the benefit of individuals, communities and industry. Thanks to support from PSAC member companies and the community, the PSAC Education Fund is growing, which means that more scholarships have been made available over time.

Currently, the Fund awards five PSAC 2012 Regular Membership Scholarships worth $1000 to PSAC Regular Member company employees or their children, and one PSAC Roger Soucy Legacy Scholarship Funded by KPMG, worth $2500, to a child of a PSAC Regular Member company employee who is heavily involved in the community and pursuing an education in a petroleum or trades related program.

The Fund also support scholarships for students at technical schools in petroleum-related and trades programs at Northern Lights College (BC), Keyano College, NAIT and SAIT (Alberta), and SIAST(Saskatchewan).

Since its inception, the Fund has awarded over $175,000 in scholarships and grants to deserving recipients.
