Updated 2012 Canadian Drilling Activity Forecast Confirms Impact of Low Gas Prices and Labour Shortages In its first update to the 2012 Canadian Drilling Activity Forecast the Petroleum Services Association of Canada reduced its forecasted number of wells drilled (rig released) across Canada for 2012 to 13,350 wells.This is a decrease of 1,700 wells (11 per cent) from PSAC’s original 2012 forecast released in early November 2011. However, this still represents an increase of four per cent over final 2011 drilling levels of a total of 12,917 wells drilled across Canada. For more information click here.
2012 STARS & Spurs Gala Raises a Staggering $720,000 The Petroleum Services Association of Canada has helped raise a total of more than $5.3 million for the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) over 18 years of presenting the annual STARS & Spurs Gala. This year's gala brought in the highest total ever raised in the history of the event at $720,000, once again demonstrating the generosity of Canada's oil and gas industry in Calgary.
